aBOUT ME

Born and raised in Tauranga, I followed the footsteps of my father, Dick Barry, to have my family and build a successful legal career here over the past 25 years. I am passionately community minded, with service integral to who I am.

I actively support and contribute legal, strategic, and governance assistance to local schools, churches, charities, Iwi, arts sector, the environment, and sporting clubs, and have served on national boards Surf Life Saving NZ and Resource Management Law Association. These experiences involved a range of financial, legal and investment decisions in my roles as legal advisor and in governance, audit and risk, treasury, and chair positions.

I am passionate about this community. I understand the legal duties of impartiality, integrity, and honesty critical to the trustee role. I believe a well governed TECT can continue its vital support to the environmental, cultural, social, and economic wellbeing of our community.

Trustees should be impartial, prudent decision-makers, able to think strategically and assess a range of complex issues. TECT investments and grants should provide long lasting and community wide benefits, support key initiatives, facilities and events.

Your vote will ensure a skilled and diverse inductee to the board with proven governance experience, business skills and dedicated service to this community
